The next release of AQD, scheduled for the second quarter of 2007,
represents a major investment in the AQD technology platform
delivering the latest user interface based on the new MS Office 2007
standards and increased functionality.
Key Benefits of the new release:
-
Simplified input forms and profiles tailored to the user's needs making the
system more intuitive and less training overhead for end users.
-
Improved tools for managing occurrence reporting.
-
Flexible business processes that support an effective safety culture within the
organisation.
-
A licensing model that supports adoption across the entire organisation.
-
A technology platform that integrates with standard IT environments.
Simple User Interface:
Adopting Microsoft's new Office 2007 standards for user interface design, and
incorporating a Microsoft Outlook style navigation pane, makes access to
features straightforward and simple.
A standard set of Flight, Cabin, Maintenance and Ground Safety occurrence report
forms is available. The user will be able to customise these forms
or add new forms if they wish; e.g. security, environment, medical etc.
Flexible Workflow Process:
The custom design capability allows forms to be tailored by the user to meet
their needs. Each business process can have its own forms with the
information content presented relevant to the process. AQD helps to
promote and maintain a positive safety culture in an organisation by making
safety and quality information more accessible to a wider audience.
Improvements in workflow processes have been introduced to make it clearer what
activities are required, and to allow more effective processing of reports
captured over the web.
Industry Standard Interfaces:
The AQD rollout plan includes support for the specific FAA ASAP
requirements in the USA. Organisations will be able to run an in house
ASAP process more effectively including data capture forms that are integrated
with other business reporting requirements, automatic report filing with the
NASA archive and improved internal process.
AQD is being positioned as a central part of IATA STEADES (Safety Information
Exchange). Industry and recognised airline standards (e.g. IATA STEADES
Event Descriptors) will be provided to those airlines participating in the IATA
STEADES programme.
