Swissport Testimonial

30 April 2009

Swissport Americas is one of the business units of worldwide ground handling company Swissport. About 3 years ago, we were searching for some type of system that would meet the data collection needs for our safety management system. After much research, we came across AQD and were pleasantly surprised that the system would not only meet our data storage needs, but also support our ground handling operations in a variety of ways.

After turning the system on about 18 months ago, Swissport Americas is currently using AQD eReporting in a variety of roles. eReporting is our consolidated collection vehicle for 1) aircraft damage reporting and the subsequent field investigation, 2) ground equipment damage reporting and investigation, 3) employee injury initial reporting and the subsequent managerial investigative report, 4) routine safety and quality audits conducted at the station level, and 5) flight irregularity reporting, just to mention a few. The eReport roll out to our stations was completely painless. It was actually more difficult to get signed on to the internal web page where eReports are located than to complete a report/investigation in the system. Our field locations particularly like to be able to amend their reports or see what the status of a report is. We have come to understand that about the only limitation that we have with eReports is with our own creativity.

AQD also feeds our internal “dash-board” enabling Swissport Americas senior leadership to get immediate performance statistics regarding our aircraft and GSE damages as well as employee injuries. These high level overviews allow us to see potential trends and issues and then use the data analysis capabilities of AQD to further drill down and understand the causal factors behind the trending. Without the strong data capabilities of AQD, we previously relied on multiple spreadsheets of data which made data analysis quite difficult. Our analysis capabilities have now become very robust. If we can report on it, we can trend it.

We feel that we have seen only the tip of the “AQD Iceberg” and are very excited about expanding our use of the system even further.
